The transformer is intended for contact system voltage transformation into voltage of traction engine chains and auxiliaries, as well as for rectified current surge control of rectifying installations of alternative current electric trains.

Operating Condition:

• Altitude above sea level – up to 1100 m.
• Temperature of ambient air: from –50С to +40С.
• Relative air humidity maximum is 90% at temperature 20С . The transformer is to stand dust and snow influences.

Transformer construction

The transformer has special construction, which resists shaking and pushing; the transformer is also intended for outdoor installation under electric train carriage body. The active part consists of two parts: the transformer active part and the reactor; it is placed in a steel tank containing transformer oil. The active part with the tank is connected through 5 bolts. The transformer is installed onto the electric train by means of beams welded to the tank. Transformer windings are made of copper wire. Winding ends connection to inputs for outdoor mounting connection is accomplished by means of copper bus-bars with welded at the ends dampers. The transformer lid is equipped with two reactor welding inputs. The inputs are closed with dismountable box. The transformer is cooled through a special cooler consisting of 4 separate radiator sections. A pipe-line connects the tank to the cooling sections. An electric pump provides oil circulation. Oil is sucked in at the inputs side and pumped into the active part. Oil is distributed into winding channels. The transformer is equipped with monitoring and indicating devices to secure operation.
